Dr. Alan P. Salomon, aka "Dr. Sonny," is part of a 40-year Memphis tradition of dental comfort and care. 3rd of a 5-generation Memphis-born family, he attended Central High, Tulane University, received his B.S. from the University of Memphis and his dental degree from the University of Tennesse College of Dentistry. He has dedicated his professional career to provide you with the best that modern, high tech, dentistry has to offer. Dr. Salomon recently was honored as a "TOP DOC" in the December, 2008, issue of Memphis Magazine.
For 40 years, Dr. Salomon has attended a minimum of 75 hours of continuing education courses biannually. He is a member of the Memphis Dental Society, Tennessee Dental Association, and American Dental Association. He has won the TDA's ACE (Accredited Continuing Education) Award every year since it was begun; and, in July, 2003, received his Fellowship degree from the Academy of General Dentistry... a lifetime of learning the dental profession.
Wife, Myrna, recently retired from teaching 5th grade in the MCS. They have 4 sons and 4 grandchildren. Oldest son, still living in Memphis, Jason Salomon, is an attorney. Youngest, Dr. Scott Weiskopf graduated UT Dental College in 2009 and is now a 4th year resident in Oral Surgery at U. of Illinois, Chicago. Dr. Salomon's avocations are whitewater kayaking and road biking. He kayaks wherever there is whitewater, and has clocked over 2400 miles on his bike so far in 2012. Goals this year include 3 State 3 Mountain ride in Chattanooga (done!) and Triple Bypass in Colorado in July.
