Dr. Alan P. Salomon, aka "Dr. Sonny," is part of a 38-year Memphis tradition of dental comfort and care. 3rd of a 5-generation Memphis-born family, he attended Central High, Tulane University, received his B.S. from the University of Memphis and his dental degree from the University of Tennesse College of Dentistry. He has dedicated his professional career to provide you with the best that modern, high tech, dentistry has to offer. Dr. Salomon recently was honored as a "TOP DOC" in the December, 2008, issue of Memphis Magazine.
For 38 years, Dr. Salomon has attended a minimum of 75 hours of continuing education courses biannually. He is a member of the Memphis Dental Society, Tennessee Dental Association, and American Dental Association. He has won the TDA's ACE (Accredited Continuing Education) Award every year since it was begun; and, in July, 2003, received his Fellowship degree from the Academy of General Dentistry... a lifetime of learning the dental profession.
Wife, Myrna, is a 5th grade teacher at Berclair Elementary. They have 4 sons and 4 grandchildren. Oldest son, still living in Memphis, Jason Salomon, is an attorney. Youngest, Scott Weiskopf graduated UT Dental College in May and began his residency in Oral Surgery at U. of Illinois, Chicago. Dr. Salomon's avocations are whitewater kayaking and road biking. He kayaks wherever there is whitewater, and has clocked over 2600 miles on his bike in 2009. Springtime will mark the beginning on another flatwater kayak race season as well.
